Good questions, straight answers

Booking a visit and settling up afterward

For something that can genuinely wait a week or two, what kind of booking lead time should we plan around?

It moves around depending on the week, but figure on a handful of days as a rough guide, and mentioning that your schedule is flexible rather than fixed often pulls that timeframe in noticeably.

A repair from a while back has started playing up again. Are we looking at paying for it a second time?

No, that's precisely what the Lifetime Labour Warranty exists to cover, just let us know roughly when the original visit happened and we put our own fault right again without charging you anything further.

Once the invoice is settled, what are the actual ways we're able to pay it?

Card, cash or an instalment arrangement all work fine, and because the figure was agreed to in writing before work began, there's genuinely nothing left to renegotiate once the job wraps up.

If a brand-new part we've paid for turns out faulty down the track, does your labour warranty stretch to cover that too?

That falls under separate cover, our lifetime promise applies specifically to the labour itself, while a physical component is covered by whatever the manufacturer offers, and we tell you clearly which applies before you pay.

When the job grows or a cost could sneak in

Partway through a job, your plumber spots something else that needs attention. Does our agreed price just quietly increase?

It never does quietly, anything extra gets presented as its own itemised cost that you can approve or decline on the spot, and nothing extra gets touched until you've given the go-ahead.

Water usage on our bill keeps climbing even though nothing's obviously changed around the house. Worth calling someone out for that?

Definitely worth checking, a leak under a slab or inside a wall cavity often stays completely invisible from the surface, and proper detection equipment finds it far quicker than pulling things apart to search manually.

Our hot water unit is dying and we just want it swapped for another one exactly like it. Does council need to be involved at all?

Hardly ever, a plain swap for the same kind of unit in the same position stays outside anything council needs to sign off on, but changing the fuel source or shifting its location is a different story, so we check the specifics before quoting.

Anything worth doing on our end before your plumber's actual arrival?

Not a great deal, clearing access to whatever's causing the trouble helps, and knowing off the top of your head where the meter sits is a bonus rather than a requirement, since most of what we need comes from a good phone description anyway.

Owners, tenants and agents

We own the property but live elsewhere ourselves. Can bookings be arranged directly with us rather than through a managing agent?

Absolutely, plenty of owners handle it that way directly, and we're equally comfortable coordinating everything through your managing agent instead, whichever setup actually suits how you manage the place.

I'm renting the place. Does my landlord need to give the green light before a plumber turns up?

That's really a conversation for the two of you, all we need on our side is confirmation from someone with the actual authority to say yes, and either of you is welcome to be the one who deals with us directly.

Questions that come up specifically around Narraweena

Original galvanised pipe still running through a hilltop cottage that's never been touched. Is that something to actually worry about?

Worth taking seriously, galvanised steel corrodes from the inside as it ages and gradually chokes water pressure, so a straightforward test tells you honestly how much working life is genuinely left in it.

Being up on a slope rather than flat ground, does that change how a blocked drain actually gets cleared?

It can, a steep block sheds water and silt differently to a level one, so the real fall of that particular yard gets checked on site before any clearing method gets decided on.

Does living on public housing land change how a repair here gets carried out compared with a privately owned home?

Not the standard of the work itself, that stays consistent everywhere, though a Housing NSW property can sometimes need its own approval sorted first before certain repairs go ahead.

Still have something to ask?

No need to keep scrolling for it, dial (02) 9072 0597 and ask a licensed plumber outright, that conversation is free and commits you to precisely nothing.
